Why

I am Tom Weiler and I’m running for the United States Senate.

The American Dream, Past, Present, and Future, that is my Freedom Story.

I served as a Submarine Officer for 20-years to protect the freedom and liberty of all Americans to pursue their own American dream.

To me, the American Dream is illustrated at a Friday Night High School Football game. The opportunity for high school kids to play football, cheer on the sidelines, march in the band, or sit in the stands -- all with the shared innocence of being a kid and being fully consumed in the moment. Routinely, on tough watches, or long days, I would always find motivation and pride that I was doing my small part to contribute to the security that enabled kids to go home that evening with the confidence, optimism, and excitement that their own American Dream is out there ready for them to chase down.

That is an American Dream I believe in and I know is still out there. Unfortunately, the goodness of that genuine American Dream is far too often being painted with shades of division, guilt, and entitlement; sadly, leaving far too many young Americans oblivious to the fact that their fellow Americans, along with our democratic republic and capitalism, brought the peace, stability, and prosperity that led to the largest increases in individual income and life expectancy of all citizens in the history of the world.

I am running to be Minnesota’s next United States Senator because I love this country, I love Minnesota, and I believe our American way of life, our American culture, and our American Dream is worth fighting for.

For the American Dream to be possible for our kids, we need to be safe and secure communities, we need a thriving economy, we need government and citizen accountability, and we need a united American spirit.
